I was planning to take the underground home. It is very cold out, and it's warmer to wait underground. But "Muni subway service has been disrupted due to overhead wires being down at Van Ness Station in the inbound direction." So I took a jam-packed maroon and cream trolley home, instead. I was lucky to get aboard.
That model has very narrow aisles.

Two things
My boss's boss was in the office today celebrating the new fiscal year. He bought us all pizza, told us how we'd done this year, what's in the works for next year, that sort of thing. What's in the works for next year is huge. As in, someone figured out how to sell our stuff to everyone on the planet... and it's supposed to go live in August. At first I was all, "Profit!" and then I was like, "Wait, how many people will be calling to complain if I mess up?"
Scary. In a good way.
I got home to find a loan approval letter in my mailbox, with an interest rate on it and everything. A pretty good interest rate, too. So if the person who currently has my dream apartment under contract wanders off, I can actually for real buy the place. And if they don't, well, this suggests I can get a loan for another place, and it's time to get serious about looking.
Scary. In a good way.

Back to business
I called the nice realtor lady, and she put K's power source in US mail to the NYC address.
Now I just need to know where we're meeting for dinner.

Lent
Took me right up to the last day, but I finally decided I'm doing dishes for Lent. For the next forty days, I will do the dishes when I get home from work, before I turn on the computer.

Living in the Future
We are living in the future- - John Prine
I'll tell you how I know

Fifteen years ago
We're all driving rocket ships
And talking with our minds
And wearing turquoise jewelry
And standing in soup lines
We are standing in soup lines

Eureka
It's like watching the Golden Age of television again: the show is an anti-perspirant commercial with an A plot, a B plot, and a season-long arc... ok, so the Golden Age didn't really have season-long arcs.
They should have kept Dry Cleaner Lady; she could have gone around making remarks about how no one has sweat stains any more.

In Outraged Stone
The look of indignation on the face of that artifact was matched only by the total outrage of her whole figure. Oh, she was a mad one! She was the comic masterpiece of the Oganta Collection. If only stone could speak she would be shrilling. She was a newly catalogued item among the grotesque alien stonery called the Paravata Oneirougma.
"You'd almost believe that she was alive!" was the laughing comment of many who watched her here in the display. "Oh, it's that she was alive once, and now she is furious at finding herself frozen in stone."
But that was the whole missed point of her outrage: she wasn't alive; and she never had been.

Lipids: nourishing the spirit
Stopped on the way home to pick up the Wandering Albatross's Christmas present* and found this. So cute! I went on to dine at Fancy Restaurant, and had the cheese plate. (Always have the cheese plate, my friends.) Included was a section of a "crocodile tear" from Capriole. Utterly swoonworthy. They have sampler boxes. Christmas is coming. I'm just saying.

So to speak.

Constellating deep meaning out of simple temporal junction
So last night, I post a bunny for no good reason, and tonight's episode of Supernatural is all about a rabbit's foot. Meaningful coincidence? Does my Dragonfly Future have a lagomorphic tone? And what of the turtles?
