New shoes!

I was on my way to the store after work when I decided I needed new shoes more than groceries. I got off the cable car at Grant, collected three pair of velvet mary janes, and, since I was there and all, had dim sum for dinner. On the way home I passed the time of day with a saxophone player at Grant and Post, and passed a Chinese violin player at Market and Ellis who was playing something that sounded a whole lot like "Red River Valley." As I got closer to home I was noticing the bougainvillea in the planters in the plaza, thinking about other places I've lived, with and without bougainvillea. Bougainvillea is important.

Waiting in the mailbox at home: jury summons.

Proposed schedule for the week

Tonight I call the phone company.
Tomorrow morning at 9 I go to the title people and sign papers.
Friday I give them lots of money.
Saturday & Sunday I work on re-arranging my worldly goods into four piles: Toss, Give, Move (store), Move (live with).
Monday I fret.
Tuesday they give me keys.

Drinks at the Elks Club

One of my coworkers just became an Elk, and he graciously asked a few of us to have a drink with him in the club bar. It's a very nice bar, right above Farallon. We had several drinks.

On my way to the bus I succumbed to the siren call of the bookstore. They didn't have Repo Man in stock, so I made do with a remaindered copy of Thelma and Louise.

They painted the hallway today, and the fumes have stuck around. Good thing it's warmed up a bit so I can open the windows.

I hope they're not sprucing the place up to sell it. That would be bad.

Delayed gratification

The Confused Cricket came along on a virtual shopping trip with me this evening. I dithered. She said, "Get them both. They're on sale." And indeed they were. So I did. Now I just have to wait for them to arrive.

And, omg, then I'll be a browncoat. With a camel. ;)

Christmas Eve

KFOG is doing their best to play four decades of Christmas novelty songs. I was especially partial to the one that had Santa on his Harley, going on a charity run with his Elves. Best Rendition of a Standard goes to Barenaked Ladies for their "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen."
