We went to see Neil DeGrasse Tyson at the Palace of Fine Art. Among the SCIENCE! he spoke of turtles all the way down (Dan'l told it better). After, we stopped at Mel's for munchies.
I think we're on for brunch this Saturday.

I hear there's a gap in the yard at the Dancing Square
Maybe I could fill it with one of these?

Trivial Pursuit
Went to a Kaboom-watching party, but the fog came in, so we played Trivial Pursuit instead. Turns out I know more about the 90s than I realized.
We had the cheese platter. :)

Concentration
...not something I'm having much luck with today. Odd, since I had a high concentration of dopamine molecules about my person. Might help if I could get some sleep.

Picnic on the beach!
We got sandwiches & went out to the Great Highway and lunched on the beach. I taught D to say "I dipped my toes in the water." He was fascinated by a giant cargo ship heading out to sea. After lunch, we encouraged D to run circles around us.
Then we went to look at the giant metal dinosaurs in Half Moon Bay. They are most excellent. Some of them harbor birds' nests.
We drove on to San Jose and dropped off K&S&D at their hotel. M and I headed back to her place so I could raid her refrigerator. We did rock/paper/scissors for the most desirable items; I won the avocado and lost the spready cheeses. She was walking me to the BART station when I fell down and scraped my knee. Embarassing, but not otherwise very damaging. I placed my feet very carefully the rest of the way home.

Ephemera
Seen while channel-flipping:
Elton John singing "Crocodile Rock" with a stadiumfull of middle-aged people jumping around going "naaaaa, na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, na-na-na-naaa."
Kathy Griffin saying how she doesn't confront people. She was raised right, you see, and only talks about them behind their backs. It's called manners.
The whales have had enough of the delta. They made good time today, and are bedded down between Alcatraz and Tiburon. Marine biologists, Coast Guard officers, and State Fish & Game employees are all confident that they'll head out through the Golden Gate tomorrow. (Me, I think they'll be making a side trip to San Jose.) A Darwinist said that maybe a couple of whales who can't find the ocean without the help of marine biologists, Coast Guard officers, and State Fish & Game employees maybe shouldn't be in the gene pool...
