This morning on the bus

I saw the new exterior of the Owl Tree. It's a black and white mosaic of snowy owl face in extreme close up. Pretty cool, I thought.

I should visit.

  2. The Owl Tree is a bar on Post Street. It was comfy & well lit, with cheap drinks and ridiculously salty bar snacks - and it was a glorious haven for all kitsch owlish. Stuffed, plush, macrame, feathered, polished, carved, branded, made of clay, good, bad, mediocre: if it looked like an owl, it was in there under an inch of dust.

When the place disappeared behind a construction wall, I assumed there would be a complete change of direction. But they're still owlish. Just cooler. Snowy, even.
