What do llamas mean?

Seriously. What is the modern symbolism of the llama? I went looking around the web, and as best I can gather, they're supposed to symbolize stolidity and material well-being, much like cows do in bovifocal societies. But... llamas are cute and frivolously fluffy. I'm having trouble with the junction.

What do llamas mean to you, dear reader?

Today's earrings: llamas, lizards

  1. Don't rightly know. But they are closely related to the camel, so it seems likely.

  2. Hmm, according to that source of all wisdom, Urban Dictionary, there are 28 definitions for llama, including:

"a hairy animal that spits at you if you bother it."

"hood term, for the big guns, ak's, mac's and tec's"

"Over-used word used by quote unquote "sugar high" girls writing fanfiction used because it's "random" and "funny", when in fact it is merely over-used, jejune, and repetitive."

"Means: Lamer or Loser. Derived from 'Lamer' back in the Quake Video Game days"

See also related terms "llama avenue", "llama boy", etc.

Who knew? So much knowledge, mercifully free from the ravages of editorial review.
